Terms of Service

Last updated 22 August 2026. These terms cover the Moonway desktop app, the moonwayd daemon, and moonway.io — together, “Moonway”. By installing the app or creating an account you agree to them.

1. Who you are agreeing with

“Moonway”, “we” and “us” mean Moonway Labs, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, 2810 North Church Street, STE 88324, Wilmington, DE 19802, United States — the company that makes Moonway. “You” means the person or organization using Moonway; if you use it for an organization, you confirm you may bind it to these terms.

2. What Moonway is

Moonway is software that runs on your machine and connects to Kubernetes clusters with your own kubeconfig. It comes in tiers:

• Free — every feature, up to 2 clusters per installation, no account required.
• Pro — unlimited clusters for one person, on every machine that person uses.
• Team — Pro for an organization, one seat per person, billed as one subscription.
• Lifetime — when offered, Pro for one person, paid once (see section 6).

The paid tiers lift the cluster limit; they do not change what the product does.

3. Your account

Paid tiers need an account on moonway.io. Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself, give us an email address you actually read, and tell us at support@moonway.io if you think someone else is using your account. Organization administrators are responsible for who they invite.

4. Your license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Moonway on machines you control, within the limits of your tier. In particular:

• A Pro or Lifetime license is for one person. A Team seat is for one person. License keys are personal — do not share them, publish them, or mint them for someone else.
• Do not circumvent the cluster limit, seat counts, or key verification, and do not help others do so.
• Do not reverse engineer, decompile or modify the software except where the law says we cannot forbid it. Do not resell, rent or sublicense it.
• Keys are valid for 90 days and renew when you sign in again; a lapsed key returns the installation to the free tier and nothing else changes.

Moonway and everything in it is ours or our licensors’. Feedback you send us we may use without obligation to you.

5. Subscriptions and payment

• Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as merchant of record for your purchase; Stripe’s terms apply to the transaction itself and to tax handling. Your card details never reach our servers.
• Subscriptions renew automatically, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. Cancel any time from your account page (Manage billing); everything keeps working until the period you paid for ends, and it then does not renew.
• Team seats can be added or removed any time; additions are charged pro rata for the rest of the period, reductions are credited pro rata against the next invoice.
• If we change a price, it applies from your next renewal and we tell you at least 30 days before.
• Refunds follow the Refund policy.

6. The Lifetime license

A Lifetime license is a one-time payment for a Pro license that does not renew and does not expire. It is for one person and is not transferable. It covers Pro as it exists and as it evolves for as long as we offer Pro; because keys verify offline, the software you have installed keeps working even if the service ever stops. It can be refunded within 14 days of purchase; after a refund the license ends. The offer may be withdrawn at any time without affecting licenses already bought.

7. Your clusters, your responsibility

Moonway acts on your clusters with your credentials and your permissions. Actions you trigger — scale, restart, cordon, delete — run against real infrastructure; you are responsible for what you click, for the kubeconfigs you load, and for who has access to the machines Moonway runs on. The per-cluster read-only guard exists; using it on production is your call. We never receive your cluster data.

8. AI features

The AI SRE is optional and runs on keys you provide against a provider you choose. What you send it leaves your machine only to that provider, under that provider’s terms — not ours. Its output can be wrong; it proposes commands and you decide whether to run them. You are responsible for what you send and for what you run.

9. Acceptable use

Use Moonway lawfully and only against clusters you are authorized to access. Do not use it to attack, probe or disrupt systems that are not yours, do not abuse the license service (for example by minting keys in bulk), and do not interfere with moonway.io or other customers.

10. Updates and channels

The app updates itself from its release channel. We may add, change or remove features over time. The beta channel is provided for early access and may be less stable; the stable channel is what we support.

11. Third-party services

moonway.io relies on Clerk for sign-in, Stripe for payments, Vercel for hosting and Cloudflare for downloads. Their availability is theirs to manage; we pick providers carefully but cannot promise they never fail. The Privacy policy lists what each one sees.

12. No warranty

Moonway is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise it is error-free or that it will catch every problem in your clusters. Some jurisdictions do not allow excluding implied warranties, so this may not fully apply to you.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or downtime, arising from your use of Moonway — including actions taken on clusters through it. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars if you paid nothing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

14. Ending this

You can stop using Moonway and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your license if you materially breach these terms and, where it is fixable, do not fix it within 14 days of our notice. Sections 4 (as to restrictions), 12, 13 and 15 survive.

15. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes are announced on moonway.io and, for paying customers, by email, at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Moonway after that means you accept them. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute goes to the state and federal courts located in Delaware, whose jurisdiction you accept — except that consumers keep any protections their local law grants.
